This page explains how to assign and remove technical contacts.

Overview

Our key process allows any developer to request keys, however they will not be able to use those keys until they are enabled. As a result, it is very important that our clients take an active role in managing access to their data by assigning one or more technical contacts.

A technical contact decides who can access a clients data by enabling or disabling API keys. Ideally this person will work directly for our client and will be familiar with their technical relationship with Bazaarvoice. An agency, contractor, or 3rd party partner will not be eligible to manage API keys. API keys will not be issued unless there is a technical contact assigned.

Technical contacts can be assigned using the method described below:

Assign a technical contact

A technical contact should be a member of the client's team. An agency, contractor, or 3rd party partner will not be eligible to manage API keys and should not be the person requesting to be the technical contact. If this applies to you, please ask a member of the client's team to following the directions below.

Technical contacts can be assigned by emailing Bazaarvoice Support. Our team will verify the user is eligible to be a technical contact. Developers will be able to request keys using the key request process approximately 24 hours after the new technical contact is verified.

Create an outgoing message in your preferred email program using the template below:

Remove a technical contact

API keys will not be issued unless there is at least one technical contact assigned.

Open a case with Bazaarvoice Support requesting the account no longer be designated as a technical contact. It may take up to 24 hours for our API key management system to reflect the change.
